Maribelle Fire Emblem Awakening

EDIT: It's already been more than half a year since I uploaded the sketches of some Fire Emblem Awakening characters. I could tell that some of them needed some touch-ups, so I sat my ass down and did what needed to be done. I also read through my descriptions I made for each drawing and threw up in my mouth. I sounded like a 12 year-old trying to confidently state my opinions as if they were facts. Ugh! Well, hopefully my new description won't sound as horrible. 

The biggest change you will see is that I gave Maribelle some hair colour. A also touched up a lot of the lines and fixed her blush. Other than that I left the piece alone. I like how it looked previously as the rough lines kind of added to the theme and emotion of the drawing. I decided to try a new trick with the hair and drew the outlines of the hair-shine first and then filled in the rest with yellow. Usually I do the shine over top of the hair on a different layer. I tried touching up her eyes and eyelashes, but the outcome was never an improvement, so I left them the way they are. Since I first drew this about half a year ago, I come to appreciate Maribelle's design. Her hair is very pretty and fun to draw, and I can't resist bow-ties in hair (thanks to the manga Nana to Kaoru). If asked whether or not she likes bondage, I think Maribelle would find it "ghastly and unfitting for a noblewoman such as herself." But either out of curiosity or her husband's wishes, she would try it and have some internal conflict over it. Like right now, I see her thinking "This is wrong, this is beneath me!... Yet it's so... Strangely exciting!"

Since I last updated the other Fire Emblem drawings I've done, I have finished my third playthrough and am now on my fifth! Okay look I tried lunatic mode, but then I found out you couldn't grind so I stopped and did a new one on hard. Don't worry, I always play on classic. And yes, I reset the game like a bitch when someone dies. Anyway, I absolutely love Maribelle now! I have only myself to blame for disliking her before, since I sucked hard at the game during my first two files. My favourite line she gives is "Do your worst". She says it with somewhat of a beat, so it's kind of catchy and sassy (and I can't get it out of my head!) On my current run, IO got the idea of pairing her up with Donnel... You know, the least likely person she would get along with since he is "low-born" and a "pig-slopper". Turns out their conversations were incredibly well written, with humor and affection. It's definitely one of my favourite pairings for the two of them now. Plus, I love Brady and having the Aptitude ability will make him a main player on my team.
